Trust is the whole product. This page explains exactly how FoxStream guides and reviews are researched, how often they're updated, and how affiliate money is kept out of our conclusions.

How guides are written

Every setup guide and troubleshooting article is researched from the manufacturer's official manuals and support documentation, then organized into the order that actually works — including the steps manuals skip. Each article lists its research basis and when it was last checked.

How products are reviewed

  • Research-based. Reviews compare published specifications, format support and interface design, cross-checked against what verified owners report over months of use.
  • Consistency. Products are assessed against the same reference checklist, so reviews are comparable to each other.
  • Honesty. Every review lists genuine cons. A product with no downsides hasn't been reviewed honestly.
  • No scores. We don't publish numeric ratings or star rankings. A single number hides the trade-offs that actually decide whether a product fits your household.

Affiliate independence

FoxStream earns commissions from Amazon when readers buy through our links. Here's how that stays separate from our opinions:

  • Recommendations are made before affiliate links are added, not after.
  • We recommend products that earn us nothing when they're the right answer, and we tell readers when a cheaper or older option is the smarter buy.
  • Manufacturers never review, approve, or pay for coverage. We accept no sponsored content.
  • Affiliate links are always labeled, and the disclosure appears on every page that contains them.

Update cadence

Guides are re-checked when the relevant device receives a major software update, and at least annually otherwise. Reviews are revisited when a successor product ships or the product changes materially. Every article shows its last-updated date at the top.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected promptly, and meaningful corrections are noted in the article. Report an error through the contact page.

What we won't publish

No fake reviews, testimonials, ratings, awards, or invented history. No urgency or scarcity tactics. No content written to impersonate or imply endorsement by any manufacturer. If a claim can't be verified, it doesn't appear.
